Valentine’s Day Popcorn

This Valentine’s day popcorn is delicious popcorn topped with M&M’s and white chocolate.

Popcorn is a favorite treat for our family, growing up we had popcorn almost every Sunday. We would have a big lunch later in the afternoon and then instead of dinner we would have popcorn and a smoothie.

Our popcorn and smoothie became a fun tradition we looked forward to each week. Now as adults with our own families we don’t have popcorn every Sunday but it is a frequent snack during the week and on weekends.

With Valentines coming up later this week I thought it was the perfect time to share this quick and easy Valentine’s Day popcorn that the whole family will love.

Valentine’s Day Popcorn

This Valentine’s day popcorn is quick and easy to make along with help from your kids. (If they like to help in the kitchen)

First you need to make the popcorn. You can make bags of microwaved popcorn or you can make homemade popcorn it’s up to you. We made our popcorn using our airpop popcorn maker.

making popcorn

If you make your own popcorn I recommend seasoning it with at least salt, butter would be good too.

Once you have your popcorn made sift it through your hands to get out as many kernels as possible and put the popcorn on a cookie sheet.

ready to make valentines day popcorn

Try not to have a very thick layer of popcorn, the thicker the layer the harder it is to get chocolate on everything.

Now that your popcorn is ready it’s time to melt the chocolate. You can use white or dark chocolate it’s totally up to you.

melted white chocolate

We used white chocolate for our popcorn this time. You can also use food coloring to dye the chocolate pink or red if you want.

While melting the chocolate I let my kids sprinkle Valentine’s M&M’s over the popcorn. They went a little bit crazy so we had a lot more M&M’s than I originally planned.

drizzle the popcorn

Once the chocolate is melted, use a kitchen spoon and drizzle the popcorn. Try and get some chocolate on each piece of popcorn.

After you have drizzled all of the chocolate let the popcorn sit until the chocolate cools and solidifies. Then enjoy!
