Homemade Oreo’s

I don’t know about you but I can’t get enough of any type of Oreos, especially these homemade ones! They are soft cookies with some of the best cream cheese frosting.

Homemade Oreo’s

These homemade Oreo’s are fast, only 3 ingredients fast! They are a great treat year-round. With this recipe, I have found that the cookie dough mixes a lot better if it is mixed by hand. With it only having 3 ingredients it is a thicker dough and it can be hard for your mixer to combine it all together.

Already let’s begin! I want to first start off by saying that this recipe can be doubled really easily. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Once you have started your oven. You are going to first want to add your devil’s food cake mix, eggs, and butter into a bowl and mix it together until it is combined. It’s a thicker dough so make sure that all the butter is mixed evenly throughout.

Once the cookie dough has been well-mixed roll into balls the size of quarters and place 3 by 4 on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. (These cookies expand when baking so if you are doing bigger-sized cookie dough balls make sure you give them room to expand.)

Bake for 8 minutes, let sit on the pan for one-two minutes and then move the to a wire cooling rack and let cool completely before frosting.

Homemade Oreo’s Frosting

This frosting recipe is fast to make a super easy. In a mixer add in your 1/2 cup softened butter, and one 8 oz. package of cream cheese. Once the butter and cream cheese is mixed add in 4 cups powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla and mix until it is all combined.

Once the are cool, match up the cookies by size and start to frost. I have found that it is easiest to frost the cookies by piping it onto one side of the cookie. Starting in the middle of the cookie and moving outward then place the matching cookie on top. And you’re done! Enjoy!
